Summary: Bissell Compared with Shark
Comment: Unsure, I bought the Bissell and Shark to compare. The products are relatively equal in all ways but three: wetness, ease of use, and sturdiness.
Wetness: At first I thought Shark wins for being drier. But then I looked closer. On both units, the steam actually comes out only from one small hole in the middle. Because the Bissell gets wetter, the whole mop head wets the floor, but on the Shark, only the spot on the floor right under the steam hole gets any wetness at all. I had to repeat and linger over small areas to get any coverage. So drier is not better. Then I compared side by side the wetness of the Bissell with the usual wetness of my (fairly well wrung) mop---same. I only held the trigger when pushing forward for that result. So it's not a clear win, but I prefer Bissell's wetness to no coverage.
Ease of use: Bissell wins. The Shark killed my back to push over my 2400 sq ft house of engineered hardwood. The instructions advise keeping it at a 45-degree angle to the floor. But that angle is difficult to hold---I am 5'2" and had to bend a bit to do it. In fact, those who have even mild arthritis or shoulder/back pain may struggle with this one. Bissell glided easily, and the trigger was no strain.
Sturdiness: Bissell wins. The shark is way too flimsy, and I am afraid that given how hard it is too push, I may break it.
Also consider---the Bissell has a three-pronged plug, so if your house has only two-pronged outlets, you will not be able to use it without an adapter. Shark has two prongs.
Despite the comparable price, the Shark is not in the same league as the Bissell. I am not certain that the Bissell is the best steam mop, but I am certainly returning the Shark. I want to compare the Bissell to my mother's Eureka Envirosteamer before I decide.

Summary: Works well
Comment: This a good product for kids to help cleaning out hardwood or tile floor. It works great for tile floor. The steam evaporated fast. But for laminated floor, it takes too long to dry up. I have to use the dry mop to dry the steam so kids will not slip.

Summary: Bissell Steam Mop
Comment: I love this mop. I had tried the shark brand & it smeared steam more than cleaned the floor. The bissell gets the floor wetter than the shark did, some reviewers complained it was too wet, it doesn't take that long to dry and you hear the steam but don't see it as much as the shark. But with the steam and very hot water i love how the floors feel when I'm done. So I'm done searching for mops.

Summary: Great Product
Comment: I just received this mop and love it! My floor covering is several years old and I have given up trying to get it clean, but this mop worked great. It will take at least one more cleaning to get the floor really clean. I used the steam sparingly and the floor dried very quickly.
