Summary: Fruitcake lovers take note
Comment: I purchased this fruitcake for my husband, who loves fruitcake. He said it was delicious! However, he did take note that it was not as good as my mother's. I tried it and he was right. I think because she wrapped it in rum or whiskey soaked cloths for 6 months before she served it made the difference. He did rate it as better than the $10.00 grocery store fruitcakes. If my mother's recipe didn't make about 20 pounds of fruitcake and take two people to mix, I would make it again. Meantime, because of the economy, we'll stick to the grocery store.
