Summary: Great gift for my husband, but not for me!
Comment: This product was highly recommended to me by a friend. I purchased it for my husband who suffers from severe muscle tightness, with a slipped disk and 3+ hour commute in the car. He thinks that it is the "single greatest product ever created in the history of the Earth." (direct quote - keep in mind!) He uses it almost daily on his back, shoulders, and neck.
I've given it a try, and I find that the percussive massage is sometimes a little too intense for me, especially on the neck and shoulders. I find it to be a little heavy, slightly awkward, and the vibrations from holding it extend through my hand and arm.
I gave the product 5 stars because of the accolades from my husband and friend, but thought I should offer my opinion as an alternative viewpoint!

Summary: Very good massager but has a design problem
Comment: I bought two MiniPro2's few years ago; one for me and one for my parents. They worked very well but in both the switch failed after a while. I have just disassembled my massager and noticed that the plastic switch slider in the handle is linked with the underlying mechanical switch by a very thin piece of plastic, which broke off rendering the massager unusable.
I give the massager four stars because it is a very good massager, but I wonder why the switch has such a lousy design in such an expensive massager. I will try to fix the switch.

Summary: Save your money
Comment: The product itself works fine, but the day after I received it, I was in Wal-Mart and saw a Home-Medics version of the SAME THING for $29.95 and decided to buy it to compare. I did not feel any difference between the 29.95 Walmart version and this $189 version. The Walmart thumper had more settings, AND heat option (if you like that). When I contacted Pro Therapy Supplies to return this unit - because you have to contact them to get a return authorization number(sigh) - they informed me that there would be a 10% restocking fee. So I figure I'm out about $30-$35 total just for ordering this product even though I didn't keep it. Take my advice, go to Wal-Mart and order the Home Medics percussion massager and save yourself a ton of money.

Summary: Fantastic Hand-Held Massage
Comment: I have a lot of neck and shoulder pain from working in an office, and jogging three times a week. The Thumper has helped me alleviate those pains. It's very well-balanced; it practically sits on your shoulders, even from a sitting or standing position. Also, I've found that it doesn't give a lot of "kickback" to the handle like other massagers. It also penetrates into the muscle, instead of other massagers that just rub back and forth against the skin.
Highly Recommended.

Summary: Original vs New
Comment: The new Thumper Mini Pro 2 Personal Massager isn't as good as the original. The new one overheats and shuts down to quickly(30min) The original one went for an hour with no problem. It isn't as strong as the original.
