Summary: Very Pleased!
Comment: This is the answer to my dreams! I'm sure there's more expensive, more detailed programs out there, but this suited my needs perfectly. I've transferred and burned over 50 DVD's so far since getting this product about a month ago!

Summary: Works Well
Comment: I was a bit leery about trying this after reading the reviews, but the reviews were so polarized between great and terrible that something just didn't sound right. I tried the program on my Pentium T2080 system running on Home Vista, and here are my conclusions.
Many people wrote about the audio and video being out of sync. I saw this during the copy process, but I let the process run its course. I played the DVD on both my computer and my DVD player on the television, and the voice and picture were fine on both systems. Perhaps other users stopped too soon.
Thanks to the previous reviews, I did go to their website to download the patch. I didn't see anything in the instructions or software installation recommending this. Check the website after completing the software installation, and download the proper patch.

Summary: Great Product
Comment: This is a great product - especially for the price. I purchased it to archive my husband's old high school basketball games and my old dance recitals - it worked really well. Set-up was quick and easy. Using it is also very easy (once you figure it out)- the instructions aren't super clear about the advanced mode, which is what you use the most. After some trial and error I figured things out and it works great.
Some other reviews complained about the audio being off by a second - on mine, it's off when I am recording it on my computer but once I burn it and watch it from the disk it's perfect. I highly recommend this product to make sure your precious memories are safe :)

Summary: Caution: Not Vista 64bit compatible
Comment: I was not able to install the drivers for the USB capture device. I contacted Customer Support and they told me it's not compatible with my 64bit version of Vista.
This despite the packaging saying "Works with Vista." Nowhere did it say "except 64 bit"
Their "Solution" was for me to purchase a new 64 bit compatible USB capture device for the same price I paid for this product. The store I bought from originally will not take back open software and I am not paying them double because no one had the foresight to mention it only works with 32bit Vista systems.
I even asked if it was possible for me to trade in my product for one that I can use and the Service Rep did not address the offer.
EDIT: I was contacted by a Customer Service Manager who saw my email as part of their monitoring routine and they are going to discuss the possibilty of swapping my capture device.
EDIT 2: They are sending me a new USB capture device for 64 bit systems. Stay tuned for an actual review! Thank you, Honestech Customer Service Manager Jay!

Summary: VHS to DVD
Comment: So far I have not been pleased with the video capture. The copy that is captured skips and the end product is roughly 2/3s the original record time (and I'm recording from a digital source). The audio capture feature seems to work fine.
