Summary: Lifesaver!
Comment: This little gizmo has come in so handy. I first used it to time contractions & took it with me to the hospital. With absolutely no sleep it was a lifesaver at the hospital. When I feed my newborn or change her diaper, I just hit the correct button & it starts timing. It takes the guesswork out of what's wrong with her...I know if she's hungry, wet or just needs cuddling. It's also great for timing how long she sleeps through the night & seeing her progression.
The only thing that could improve this is if it had a temperature display as the nursery should be between 68-72 degrees to decrease risk of SIDS and I had to purchase a separate digital thermometer. I keep the ITZBEEN on my nightstand next to her crib during the night & clip it to my pocket during the day. This also keeps up with last side you nursed on. Trust me...you NEED this!!

Summary: a MUST HAVE for new (tired) parents
Comment: We got this product as a gift and did not realize at the time how necessary it is! In a new parents' tired confused stupor waking every hour to 2 hours for weeks at a time, it is hard to remember what happened over the course of a blurry sleepless night. This was mostly useful at night. My husband was very helpful taking turns getting up in the middle of the night but without referring to the itzbeen, I would have to wake him back up to find out whether he fed her, changed her diaper, when he got up last, etc.
The only downside is that the timers have been resetting themselves lately. Maybe the batteries are dying...
We're definitely going to buy the Itzbeen as gifts for expecting friends / family!

Customer Rating: Summary: Turned out to be useless
Comment: My baby ended up being her own baby care timer. I thought I was all prepared before she was born by having this thing to help out, but it was more of a pain to try to use. I was too busy trying to get on with just taking care of her to even use it for more than a week. And the settings kept resetting themselves anyway, which is SO FRUSTRATING on 2 hours sleep!! It was easier for us to just use pen and paper to write times down, no buttons to fiddle with, no wrong times.

Comment: After reading reviews and getting an idea of what this thing does, I decided this would have to be my first baby gadget. I loved the idea behind it and everybody that used it loved it to. I purchased mine from babies-r-us. When i got it home and started to play with it the display went out before I could even get the time set. As you can imagine I was very disappointed. I returned the bad one and exchanged it for a new one. This time it was bad as soon as I turned it on. Most of the display worked on this one but about 10% of the characters would not show up. I even tried changing batteries several times in hopes that that would fix the problem. unfortunately it did not. The display seems to be a major problem. This time I just got my money back. So if you do decide to buy this thing I hope you have better luck than I do.
