Summary: Great utility
Comment: I bought this for my wife who's favorite passtime is to read. She loves it! The only two she wishes she could change is the size of the page turning tab and the wireless signal strength, which is partially due to our geographic location. Definatly worth the purchase though!

Comment: I tried to give Kindle a 4.5, so I gave it a 5 instead. The only two flaws: no backlight and the next page button is too easy to hit!

Comment: I am a fairly new owner of the Kindle. The only complaint I have so far is that, in my opinion, it has a design flaw. The page turners on each side are way too sensitive or poorly located. I find myself touching one or the other and loosing my place in what I'm reading. It's very irritating.

Comment: I was so excited when I purchased the Kindle. It was pricey, although I go the Oprah discount, but I thought it would be something My husband and I would use for years to come. He is a big reader, and enjoyed the first few books I ordered for him. (Twelve might orphans, and a few others)
then, as he would finish one book I would look at ordering another and then consider the investment! He told a friend of his about the kindle and the "orphans..." story and wanted to share it with him. I explained that it was too expensive and not practical to share with someone, then we couldn't use it. Also, the books are really too expensive. It is much cheaper just to go to a half price book store and buy a book, borrow one from the library, or just borrow one from a friend.
I think it can be good, but amazon needs to lower the price of books, esp. in this economy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best Invention Ever!!!
Comment: I am not a reader. I always had the excuse that carrying heavy books around was not useful and I could never find time to read at home with kids screaming, dishes to be done, endless straightening and work brought home from the office. No excuses anymore. The Kindle has turned me into a reader. I downloaded a 900 page book in less than a minute and have not put my Kindle down since.
My only complaint is that it is difficult to know what page you are on. There is a line of dots at the bottom that shows progress but sometimes knowing that you have read 200 pages out of 900 gives reassurance that 4 dots does not.
The wireless feature is amazing and I have even started reading the newspaper. We get one at home but my husband steals it before I have a chance to look at it. Now he wants to read the paper on my Kindle but I have told him to back off and get his own.
I just ordered the light but have to say that the digital ink technology is fantastic. I took my Kindle to the beach over vacation and had no problem reading in the direct sunlight with my sunglasses on.
