Summary: Bunn is questionable
Comment: I had three bunn coffee makers trying to find one that would not cause flakes to plug up the holes in the spray head in the coffee maker. I never did find one that would not plug up. I used filtered water, spring water, soft water and nothing worked. Be careful.

Summary: Awesome Coffee Maker!
Comment: I just got this coffee maker a few days ago to replace a programmable Mr. Coffee. The Mr. Coffee was only a few months old, but it was terrible, the heating plate rusted, and the delay brew stopped working. My wife hates the taste of coffee when it has sat on a hot plate, so this seemed like the perfect solution. I had looked at Bunn makers before, but was always turned away by the higher price. I am very happy that I finally made the purchase. The construction is top notch. It brews lightning fast. It uses the same method that restaurant and coffee shop makers use, which are also typically Bunn. The carafe keeps the coffee piping hot for hours. I love the simple, commercial style of it. You can tell that it is a maker designed to last for years. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra for the Bunn. You won't be disappointed, and the most important part, The coffee taste's great!

Summary: The best....if your wife likes its looks
Comment: I bought this unit cause I was tired of drinking burnt plastic tasting coffee every day. I knew I needed something without alot of plastic that gets heated up. I also had to have a thermal carafe cause I like to space out my drinks. Problem is unless you want to spend well over $200 for a stainless steel commercial system you have no other choice than this Bunn.
It was a little more than I wanted to spend but if you want quality it costs more. The payback is the years of faithful service and a solid company behind it. Long story short, it's a great unit... in your office pantry. If you have a wife that is particular about the kitchen then forget it. It just looks too industrial. I did see the filters in walmart for a buck. And it does keep the coffee warm a long time.

Summary: Bunn BTX-B ThermoFresh 10 cup carage home brewer
Comment: Really like this coffee maker. Not quite as fast as my last bunn, but love the thermal pot and am just happy with it. Was worth the money. Coffee is nice and hot.

Summary: some annoying quirks
Comment: This is my second one of these. The first one lasted for years which is amazing since I used to wear a couple out in a year. My only complaint with that one was that the thermal carafe seal wore out kind of fast--in a year or so. I just started transferring coffee to another carafe after brewing rather than get the expensive replacement.
The new brewer, though, overflows at times! A few pots will be fine; then, the next pot overflows. The water builds in the section for grounds resulting in an mess of water and ground coffee. I'm only using four scoops of coffee which I don't think is excessive. Nothing seems to fix the overflow problem.
It is also really difficult to know how much water to put in. There are no markings whatsoever on the carafe. It is also hard to see inside the carafe to ascertain how high the water is in the pot.
In addition, the rubber piece on the carafe for entry of brewed coffee is amazingly thin and flimsy. It is so thin, in fact, that I am afraid it will tear when washing it off. The last carafe had a flimsy little flap in this section that wore and broke off. This new piece is of a much thinner material. I suspect it will need replacing often.
I'm disappointed. I've been spoiled. I like getting coffee brewed in three minutes. Unfortunately, this brewer's got to go.
