Summary: Norelco blew it with the vac/trimmer/guard interface. This thing is bad.
Comment: I'm very disappointed with this trimmer. The thing that made me buy it is the thing that makes this unusable. I speak of the vacuum. It does a good job at keeping the hair out of the sink, but its placement sets the trimmer so far back from the guard that using this trimmer on setting 2 (which is what I always used on my old Norelco T7500 to keep it nice and tight) is the equivalent of setting 7 or so (which is fairly long) on my old trimmer so I am unable to get a nice tight, trim look. Using it on a mustache is useless especially right underneath your nose. It is simply impossible to angle the trimmer in such a way as to trim the hair. I have attempted to use this trimmer twice and both times have had to result to pulling my very old T7500 out of the drawer and using it to get a decent trim.

Even setting this thing on the closest setting (#1) the trimmer still sets back waaaaay too far from the guard to be useful. If you contort you wrists and elbows you can get a fairly close trim on setting 1, but it is a giant pain to have to keep twisting and turning this trimmer around to achieve an even halfway decent trim. This thing is done. I'm shopping around for another brand.

I've been a Norelco user for over 10 years, but they blew it with this one!

Comment: This was a complete waste of money. It doesn't cut the beard hair evenly and the length guide slips so that it will suddenly cut your beard down to nearly bald with no warning. The craftsmanship feels flimsy and on the shortest setting it scratches up the skin. The suction feature doesn't work well and you end up with hair everywhere to clean up. Please save your money and buy something that works!

Comment: Look and feel is very stylish and the blade technology is pretty impressive. Only thing I feel is that the construction is not as solid as it appears specially when you hold it. The door to the compartment where all the hair gets collected seems a bit fragile when applied some force to open which it needs to be opened. Ergonomics are pretty good on this one but it may take a while to get used to it if you have been using other brands. In general, I am quite happy with this equipment.

The only complain I have is from Amazon which dropped the price immediately after I bought it :( during thanksgiving. There should be a price protection for few days for consumer confidence.

Comment: The other one star reviews are correct, the auto lock mechanism does not work. It slips down to the lowest setting making this effective only for a stubble look. Too bad, as the vacuum function worked pretty well.
