Summary: solid printer at a steal
Comment: Haven't printed but about 30 pages but it is quick - it really does print out the first page in 8 seconds even from sleep mode. I suppose I'm easily impressed since I had a 6 yr. old Canon inkjet. It comes with a full cartridge. Easy setup. G3 fax. Needs usb port. Healthy size.

Summary: Excellent laser printer, great deal.
Comment: I got this printer for a great price on amazon's lightning deals. After years of ink-drinking inkjet printers that move at a glacial pace, this was a wonderful upgrade. The addition of the copy, scan and fax options are great too. I haven't tried the fax yet, but everything else works fantastic. Great speed, makes some noise but not ridiculously loud, good print quality. I'm very happy with this printer and would recommend it to anybody, especially at the lightning deal price.

Summary: great printer documentation needs lacking, but excellent tech support
Comment: absolutely great product, have a small home office and it does everything that i need. quick setup, excellent design. Interface is somewhat archaic but quickly understandable. my biggest quip is that the documetnation sucks, not very clear, especially when trying to setup the fax line. had to call tech support, but they where great and answered my questions very quickly and thoroughly overall, very happy with my experience.

Summary: Vista x64 beware!
Comment: I snatched this multifunction printer today for a very cheap $99.99 at Fry's. It seemed like a good deal at the time and I kept thinking to myself that it was too good to be true. Well, it might the best product ever...if your OS isn't a Vista 64-bit.
From the minute I put in the software disc for Vista I had problems right off the bat. The disc...is completely incompatible with 64-bit machines. You have to go to the Canon website to actually download the new drivers. That's OK. Problem solved right? I printed out a few test docs and also made a few test copies as well. The pages printed out quickly and flawlessly. 5 out of 5 stars right there. (I have to admit the machine is a little big and chunky, but it wasn't a major issue). Next, I tried to do a scanning test. *Cue loud car screeching here* The Toolbox 4.9 software does not even recognize the scanner drivers! Thankfully I can use Paint for images, but as of now I have no idea how save scans as a PDF file and use that OCR software.
I haven't tried the fax yet, but since I don't fax that much I guess it wouldn't matter to me. Anyway for a multifunction printer, it apparently can only do two good things for me: print and copy. So if you're a Vista 64-bit user, look elsewhere. I emailed Canon about this problem and am expecting a reply. If that doesn't work I might have to personally call them myself. Canon definitely dropped the ball here for 64-bit versions.

Summary: Perfect for my home
Comment: Going from a basic Canon MFC inkjet printer, this was a major upgrade for me. It's much much faster than my old inkjet, which was the most important feature for me. No wetness on the paper anymore, which I hated when using ink.
I would really love to have a good way of duplex printing though; it's really not easy.
