Summary: There is No Chance In Hell.
Comment: First about Royal Rumble 1999, when I first saw this event in 1999, I loved it. However, after a few years and a couple of viewings, I realized that I only loved it for the final two matches and everything else was forgettable. But anyways about the card.
Road Dogg vs Big Bossman. I did not understand why this match was not for the Hardcore title since Road Dogg was the champion. This match would have been better if it was but it was just average and nothing noteworthy stood out.
Intercontinental Champion Ken Shamrock vs Billy Gunn. This one was a little better than the opener but again was not so good. Maybe it was because the match was too short but overall average, nothing special.
European Champion X-Pac vs Gangrel. Gangrel sucks and who booked this match? Oh well, this match is pretty decent due to the speed of X-Pac to make this one a little bit more watchable. However, still not that good.
Strap Match: Women's Champion Sable vs Luna. This match was horrible and just plain sad to the point where they were suppose to have a rematch at the next event and it was canceled considering the fact that this match sucked.
I-Quit Match: WWF Champion Mankind vs The Rock. Finally, a great match and truly a lost classic. If anyone wonders why I think the Cena/JBL I-Quit match sucked, watch this one and find out. The Rock is ruthless here as the heel to get his title back while Foley takes some of the most vicious, unprotected chair shots that I have ever seen. This one is kinda funny with the mic-talk as well which makes it entertaining. The ending is kinda lame but you will forgive at after seeing this match. Truly the match worth getting the VHS for.
Royal Rumble Match. This Rumble match was surrounded around the first fight between Stone Cold Steve Austin & Vince McMahon that began and ended the Rumble. The highlights include Kane's short dominance before eliminating himself due to his orders from the Corporation, Chyna becoming the first woman to enter the Rumble and everyone gunning for Austin to collect the bounty that McMahon put on his head. The ending was a shocker and I actually liked it. Overall, a good Rumble match that does have a good beginning, slow middle and explosive ending.
Overall, not that great of an event that is only remembered for the I-Quit match. I would get this at a cheap price for that match, otherwise pass up.

Comment: This Royal Rumble is very memorable for many reasons. I have
watched almost all the Royal Rumbles and alot of them weren't
physical, but this one sure stands out!!!
We see a physical, hard hitting strap match between former employee/wrestler Sable -Rena Mero- and Luna. The rivalry between the 2 has been going on for some time and it comes to blow in this match. Both ladies take a beating and the better woman wins this match. I wont spoil it for you by saying who wins.
We also see a tough match between the 300 pounds of the Big Boss Man against the Road dog in Special Challenge match. Both men beat the hell out one another and it's a good match.
One memorable match is between Ken Shamrock and Billy Gunn for the IC Title. Before the match we see how this feud got started. Billy Gun proceeds to show his butt to Ken Shamrock's sister. Shamrock gets his revenge at the end.
The European Match between XPac and Gangrel is also a good match but not physical like the others but still alot of high flying moves from XPAC.
Speaking of high flying and physical the "I Quit" match between then Corporate Champion-The Rock, and then WWF Champion-Mankind is one of the greatest matches in WWF history even though the ending is a ripoff. We hear so much foul language in this match that I was laughing my head off, on top of that we get one of the most bloodiest matches in history. If you have seen King of the Ring 98 between The Undertaker and Mankind, you can expect the same thing. Mick Foley sacrificing his body to put on quite a show. This is a Foley trademark and would be the subject of controversy as Foley did somewhat the dumb mistake of inviting his kids to see such a violent mess. This would be later recalled in "Beyond The Mat". Foley once said he was jealous of the Rock or implied that he was jealous certainly this wasn't his best moment but as Foley does he puts the business first.
Now the Royal Rumble is also a must see because its the only Rumble where Vince McMahon is a #2 in the Rumble and Stone Cold is #1, McMahon
has put a bounty on Stone Cold, but that doesnt prevent Stone Cold from beating the hell out of Vince.
A great Royal Rumble, if you havent seen any of them make sure you see this one!!!
I guarantee you wont be disappointed.

1. Road Dog vs. Big Boss Man- this was a decent match but u cant excpt alot when you are watching big boss man wrestle. Still a decent opener and i think road dog carrid this match. Winner Road Dog. Match rating 5.5/10.
2. Billy Gun vs. Ken Shamrock for the Itc title- This was alot better than the first match and it was at leats for a title which made the match better. I always have like shamrock he has so much intensity and that ankle lock is deadly. Good back and forth action and i would have liked to see them go a little longer. Winner and still Itc champ Ken Shamrock. Match Rating 6.5/10.
3. X-Pac vs. Gangrel for the europen title- This was a decent match. I always have liked x-pacs in ring work but i think gangrel took alot away from this ,atch and it was not that good. Worth a watch for the first time but no more than that. Winner and still europenchamp x-pac. Match Rating 6/10.
4. Sable vs. Luna in a strp match for the woens title- This was a horriable match. I have always liked sable but once again luna took away from the match not much to say and u can skip this one. Winner abd still womens champ sable. Match Rating 3.5/10.
5. The rock vs. Mankind for the wwe title in an i quit match- This was an unbelible match and has to be seen more than once. The punishment that mankind thakes is off the chain. This is deffenilty a top match of the year canidate, This had everthing including when mankind fell off a top of a ladder and got electrecuted, Hardcore with ladders tables nd chairs. The ending is sick were mankind is handcuffed and takes 11 chair shots to the head was hard to watch. Winner and new wwe champ the rock. Match Rating 10/10.
6. The royal rumble match- This was a woerd royal rumble. It had its ups and it had its downs. Deffently not good becuase there were two people that had a decent chance of winning stone cold and vince mcmhaon . Horriable slection in this match. It was hard to watch but it was not horriable. The good thing was the ending was unpredicatrble which was a surprise and i like it. Winner Vince McMahon. Match Rating 7.5/10.
Well that raps up another. I would give royal rumble 1999 a rating of 39/60 which means this is a poor ppv. Excpet for the i quit match and the royal rumble this was a awful ppv. If you can tell me if my review was helpful or not i would appreictae that. Thank u for your time.

should make Austin wins this one and lost the Rumble "97".
The only good on this PPV is the WWF Championship "I Quit Match"
between The Rock and Mankind. It's brutal and awesome.

Comment: Vince McMahon should get this pay per view on DVD right now, this had to be the best and funniest Royal Rumble I have ever seen. Although the Rock caused interference in the match Vince manage to throw the Stone Cold over the top rope. Great Rumble, hope it gets a DVD format.
